Dixon Cup Format - 2026

Scratch Stroke Play competition between the current champions of the:-
Hadrian League
North Northumberland League
North Durham Union of Golf Clubs
Teesside Union of Golf Clubs
Newcastle and District League.

Teams consist of seven players each with the best six scores counting.
In the event of a tie the seventh score will count. If the scores are still tied the best five, four, three, two and one scores will count in order.

The President's Trophy will be awarded for the best individual gross score. Countback rules will apply for all scores based on back nine, back six, back three and stroke index 1.

To be eligible to play for a club in the Dixon Cup a player must have represented that club in least one league match that current season. In the event that s League has only played 6 men or players are not available on the day, a reserve player can take part but will not be counted as part of the best 6 scores.

Traditionally, whenever possible, the competition is played on the second Sunday in September each year. The venue is at a neutral Club (not the winners of the relevant league) and played on a rotational basis around all of the leagues.
